Set within 1,800 acres of stunning National Trust parkland, The Ickworth Hotel combines heritage and modern elegance, and is known for its exceptional service, and brilliant family activities.  With a commitment to providing an unforgettable experience for our guests, we are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our brilliant team.

Role overview:

As a Night Porter at The Ickworth Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during the night hours. This position requires a responsible and proactive individual who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and security for our guests. This is a part time 16-hour permanent position, at an hourly rate of £12.08 per hour, plus generous service charge.  The role will require someone who can be flexible with hours and can cover at least 5 nights (40 hours) holiday for another full-time night porter on occasion.

The role will be to start week commencing 16th September.

Key Responsibilities:

-  Oversee the running of the hotel from sundown to sunrise: ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all our lovely guests.

- Guest Assistance: Provide assistance to guests during the night, including check-ins, handling guest enquiries, and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.

- Maintaining the brand standards of our reception and public areas: keeping areas tidy and presentable.

- Work as part of a motivated team: this is a hands-on role managing the guest experience, giving concierge service.

- An understanding of health and safety: as well as the ability to keep calm in challenging circumstances

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality background is preferred.
  • An engaging personality, with a passion for hospitality who can provide great service to our guests.
  • The ability to interact and engage with all guests including children.
  • Problem solvers - a person who can answer guest questions and looks for solutions, with the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills and accurate numeracy- along with honesty and good judgements.
  • Availability to work night shifts and weekends.
