Den (Childcare) Supervisor

The Den - The Ickworth

Contract: Fixed-term
Salary: 12.34 plus generous service charge

We are currently recruiting for a Den Supervisor, on a 12-month maternity cover contract, to join the team at The Ickworth Hotel – part of Luxury Family Hotels.

We are looking for someone who can work 24 hours per week, which will include every 2nd weekend. The rate of pay for this role is £12.34 per hour plus generous share of tips and access to team benefits.


Role:
At each of our properties we have a dedicated creche for our smallest guests called The Den. The Den team run complimentary supervised sessions in the Den twice a day for babies of 3 months up to children of 8 years old. Our Den team are creating fun play sessions for the children which allow the adults to have some time just for themselves. The Den team also run family activities where families can have fun, engage in a special activity and spend quality time together.
As Den Supervisor your core purpose will be to :

  • Run 2 supervised childcare sessions per day: for babies from 3 months up to 8 year old children in your care, providing fun, stimulating, interactive and safe play and activities, tailored to children’s age and interests, in accordance with Ofsted requirements on the Voluntary Register and LFH standards.
  • Help develop and deliver an exciting family activity programme: you will help design, prepare, organise and deliver a fun and creative activity programme for families. You will utilise the Woolley Grange estate working alongside other heads of department to create engaging experiences and long lasting, unique memories for families, including using the seasons and special theme days throughout the year.
  • Support the Den Manager to lead, train and inspire a team of childcare professionals who love being with children and can connect with parents, helping create a welcoming atmosphere, resolve any issues quickly and give confidence in the quality of our childcare

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who has:


• Previous experience working within a childcare setting, with experience working with babies to primary school age children
• Minimum of 2 years managerial experience in childcare or similar related setting
• Accredited childcare/playwork qualification Level 2 is essential
• Creativity and passion for childcare is essential
• Experience working with Ofsted is desirable but not essential
• Paediatric First aid qualification is desirable but not essential
