Nestled in the idyllic countryside of Suffolk, the beautiful Ickworth Hotel is now seeking a motivated and talented Sous Chef to join our brilliant team. Role Overview:
As a Sous Chef at Ickworth Hotel, you will be a key player in our culinary team, contributing to the creation of exceptional dishes that reflect our commitment to quality. This role requires a creative and dedicated individual with a strong culinary background, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering an unforgettable dining experience. This will be on a fixed term contract from July to December, at 48 hours per week over 4 days (including weekends), with an annual salary of £39,000, plus generous service charge and a brilliant benefit package.
Responsibilities:
- Development of recipes: helping with seasonal menu writing, and preparing high-quality dishes
- Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to all health and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the kitchen team, building their knowledge in a collaborative work environment. Provide guidance, training, and support to junior kitchen staff.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Conduct regular checks to ensure all dishes meet the established standards.
- Ordering and Inventory: Monitor stock levels, and place orders as needed to ensure a well-stocked and organized kitchen.
To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel setting.
• Culinary qualifications and a strong understanding of various cooking techniques.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with a passion for developing the team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
• Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
