Head Kitchen Porter

The Ickworth, part of Luxury Family Hotels, is entering an exciting new era. As a Head Kitchen Porter you will play a part in shaping the next chapter of this much-loved Suffolk retreat.

This is a permanent position at 40 hours per week, with a rate of £13.48 per hour, plus generous service charge. Flexibility will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Kitchen Porter team, ensuring high cleaning and hygiene standards.
• Oversee all potwash operations: cleaning crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently.
• Keep your section clean, organised, and safe during and after service.
• Ensure correct use of chemicals and follow health & safety procedures.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and report any equipment issues.
• Work closely with chefs to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

• Food Hygiene Level 2 (beneficial but not essential).
• A positive, reliable team player with a passion for hospitality.
• Ability to stay calm and organised during busy periods.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
